“I liked this goofy, energetic show. But it owes more to Evil Dead: The Musical than La Cage Aux Folles and would be more accurately, though admittedly less flashily, titled Fanboy Lesbian Scooby-Doo Bride of Frankenstein. And if that seems like fun to you, you're in for a treat.”
-David Vining, NYtheatre.com

Billy Butler and the Monster Makers return to Joe's Pub for another concert of their pop/rock musical hit, Gay Bride of Frankenstein. Hailed as the Rocky Horror for a new generation it has had regional success as well as a run at NYMF in 2009. This new concert version will feature past members of the cast as well as the creators, Dane Leeman narrating and Billy Butler on vocals and at the piano.

Chicago Reviews

"Taking on the lead role of Roxie is Maggie Politi. Delivering impeccable comedic timing, a capable voice, and a commanding stage presence, Maggie does great justice to this part.”

Co-starring with Jason Fleck in this delicious Broadway extravaganza, the brassy and unforgettable Maggie Politi...
This production is pure satire with the dynamic duo of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, played with zest and emotion by Maggie Politi and Amy Marie Mcleary

Photo Flash: Hobson, Adams, et al. in GAY BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN

"Pop/rock musical, Gay Bride of Frankenstein which recently closed a successful out of town run was back in NYC for a one night only industry concert reading at Joe's Pub on Tuesday, January 25 at 7:00 pM. Starring Louis Hobson, who played the role of Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine in next to normal since the musical's pre-Broadway engagement at Arena Stage in 2008. The concert also featured the following cast members from the out of town run: Ashley Kate Adams (reprising her role from NYMF), Megan Kane, Wade Elkins, Derek Carley, Joshua Moore, Bradley Gale, Britt Mack and Maggie Politi. Directed by Igor Goldin and musically directed by Patrick Dorow. The book was written by Dane Leeman, who also narrated the night and Billy Butler. Music and lyrics by Billy Butler.

David Vining of NYTheatre.com said it would be, "...more accurately, though admittedly less flashily, titled Fanboy Lesbian Scooby-Doo Bride of Frankenstein. And if that seems like fun to you, you're in for a treat!"

Gay Bride of Frankenstein is a Gothic fairy tale that follows the exploits of four high school friends on one fateful Halloween night. Will the girl get the girl? Never has there been a Halloween love story like this with rock and roll, mystery, magic and a cartoon caper that will scare you silly."
